COURSE OVERVIEW

The Advanced Certificate in Styling & Design is made up of the Advanced Certificate in Styling and the Advanced Certificate in Fashion Design.

Stylists work for individuals, fashion houses and clothing brands and their main responsibilities include providing fashion advice; choosing and co-ordinating outfits for models in photo shoots or actors in television and film; and choosing props and accessories and preparing them for shoots. By the end of the Styling portion you will have the skills to work closely with designers, photographers, videographers, producers, directors and retailers to ensure the vision of the brand is executed to the brief created by the creative team.

The Design modules will provide you with the fundamentals you need to get out into the fashion industry as soon as possible. The Advanced Certificate in Fashion Design course has been designed for people who are looking at starting their own fashion label or interested in a career as a fashion designer. By the end of the design portion, students will have completed a range of activities and projects and finish with a mini collection of your choice, plus and swimwear and activewear capsule collection.

DURATION: On average students complete this course within 40 weeks/1 year.

*Students will be required to source and consult with clients to complete a series of personal makeover consultations using the skills, knowledge and documentation learnt throughout the course.

Your final Advanced Styling projects will include restructuring a store layout and aesthetic for the topic Visual Merchandising, sourcing suitable styling options for high profile and celebrity clients, planning and conducting two photoshoots for commercial and e-commerce, which will be used to start your professional portfolio.

Once you've enrolled, students receive access to a library of weekly instructional videos. All learning content is beautifully curated in magazine style topic PDF files which are filed topic by topic and week by week. All activities, tasks, projects and so on are completed or submitted in the portal. Simply upload a document and hit submit. In addition to the user friendly online platform you can contact any of our mentors/trainers 24/7 if you have a question or are interested in booking in for a support session over the phone or via zoom. What about practical tasks and learning? Throughout the year, our students are given opportunities to get hands on experience working with labels, brands, on photoshoots, or on events such as; Miss Universe, Eurovision or with Celebrity Stylists for the TV Week Logies. This is in addition to the practical tasks and projects that students complete during the course, meaning ACA students graduate work ready with a CV that shows experience!
